Even as a young child, Melissa Sweet chose to wear white. While other children her age were sporting multi-colored playclothes, Melissa wore white dresses, blouses, skirts and shirts. Melissa loved the color white. One might say that it was her destiny to become a wedding gown designer.

Sweet first began designing her own white prom gowns in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. From there she went on to broaden her skills at Parsons School of Design in New York and Bauder College in Georgia and in 1996 she started her own company in Atlanta. To no ones surprise she showcased her first bridal collection in a historic white mansion. She quickly developed a nationwide following and began selling her wedding gown line in exclusive boutiques across the country.

Inspired by the graceful shape of a woman’s body, Sweet designs silhouettes that complement a bride’s gentle curves. With pairings of Chantilly and Alencon laces over silk fabrics, the result is nothing less than extraordinary!

Sweet’s styles are subtly romantic, classical yet modern and fun.

When asked for advice regarding shopping for a wedding dress, Melissa Sweet said never second guess yourself and don’t feel like you have to try on every dress that’s ever been designed before choosing your wedding gown.
